Great Ocean Road and Sydney take 2

Nothing terribly exciting is happening these days. Last weekend I went for a nice run by myself (was sore for 4 days after) and then a friend took me to see penguins at the beach at night. They were so cute! There were a couple groups of people taking pictures and shining lights in the penguins faces but I just wanted to see them in their natural habitat. It was pretty warm (maybe about low 70s) so I was surprised to see them. They live in these large rocks out on a jetty. You have to be careful looking for them because if you see something moving it could be a penguin, or it could be a water rat.

Other than that I've just been working a lot and trying to get a couple papers submitted for my research group. Tonight I'm going to watch an improv comedy show with one of my housemates so that should be fun. I seem to have plenty of work coupled with a few days of fun each week, can't ask for more than that!

In other news Ali just sent me her pictures from her trip so I wanted to add a few here. She captured some things I didn't.

Me in a cave on The Great Ocean Road (in case you were counting, that is on my goals list as well).

A secret little cave on the Great Ocean Road. This picture doesn't do it justice. It was beautiful!

The same cave, from a bit closer.

Me breaking the rules and crossing the fence. Apparently large rocks are expected to fall at any moment and you shouldn't get too close....but I needed a picture.

A sign near the park in Sydney. I really liked their encouragement for embracing the landscape.

Ali and I in front of Luna Park in Sydney.

Ah yes, the Swagman. This was the outside of our hostel in Sydney. It was brightly colored and stuck out from the surrounding buildings.
